Our Mission
To pursue the leadership role of organising, promoting, developing, co-ordinating and empowering business people engaged in manufacturing and service-related businesses, with emphasis on assisting the previously disadvantaged.
Our Objectives

The objectives of NIC, which are underpinned by the ideal of industrial empowerment, are as follows:

  • Promote interest in and awareness of manufacturing as an important sector of the economy.

  • Facilitate the provision of training, counselling and advisory services.

  • Communicate regularly with members on matters of mutual interest by way of newsletters, meetings, seminars and conferences.

  • Lobby for an SMME-friendly political, social, economic and regulatory climate through participation in various interest groups, forums, workshops and advisory committees.

Our Services

To achieve it's objectives, the NIC offers the following services to various groups of members:

  • Entrepreneurs
    • Management training through the BSSA training programme.

    • The network of BIAC's spread throughout the country offers business information, both specialised and general.

    • NIC news is the mouthpiece of the chamber and keeps members up to date within and outside the chamber movement.

  • Corporate Membership
    • Keeps you in touch with developments in the dynamic black-owned manufacturing and services sector.

    • Can help you to design a sustainable and profit-motivated small supplier programme.

    • Your company, alone or in partnership with others may wish to sponsor a local business advice centre. We have facilitated such deals in the past.

    • We can provide counselling and advice on entrepreneurship to employees about being retrenched.

    • We undertake consulting assignments on issues related to black business and economic development.

  • Local and international development organisations
    • We facilitate information gathering- joint venture approaches- study tours- training. We also accept assignments on economic development issues.
